Facial Skin Care Products – Warning Before Use, Know What to Avoid!

It seems like companies are constantly coming up with new skin care products, adding to the hundreds that are already available. It can be hard to figure out which of these facial skin care products you should use. However, unknown to most people, a lot of these products actually contain ingredients that you would be better off avoiding. Knowing which ingredients to avoid can narrow down your options and make your decision a lot easier.

One of the common ingredients in facial skin care products that you should try to avoid is something called parabens. These are used as a way to make the products last longer, but there is a chance that they may actually cause cancer. For this reason, it is better to choose products that don’t contain this ingredient. Even if products without this ingredient don’t last as long, it is worth it to buy them and minimize future risk. Just buy them in container sizes that you will use by the expiration date.

Many facial skin care products also contain fragrances. Although these may make your cream smell nice, you really don’t need these extra chemicals, and many of these fragrances cause some people to get irritation or allergic reactions. Since they aren’t necessary, why take the risk that one of the fragrances used won’t agree with you? In general it is always a good idea to avoid using any unnecessary chemicals in your products.

Most people use face creams in order to moisturize their skin. If this is the case, then you don’t want to choose a product that contains any type of alcohol since alcohol can dry out the skin. Alcohols can be listed under many different names, including ethanol, methanol, benzyl, isopropyl, and ethyl. Check the ingredients list for any of these ingredients before you decide which face care product to purchase.

Finally, although mineral oil can make your skin soft and smooth, it can also clog your pores. You don’t want to have smooth skin at the expense of getting acne problems, so you should avoid creams that contain this ingredient as well. It is easier to prevent acne than to try to get rid of it.
