Skin Lightening: Effective Tips For Men
By Mike Foster • Aug 2nd, 2010 • Category: Skin Care for MenMost men are engaged in jobs that requires them to be outdoors , causing sun burns on their skin. Some are engage in heavy works that leave their skin dark spots and scars. Blemishes on their faces can be concealed by their mustache and beard , but once they shave it off, the skin imperfections are very clear to the eyes .
Every day, as each man stands in front of the mirror, there is no way that he would not notice any discolorations on the skin especially after a busy schedule. Dark circles around the eye can be observed as well.
Of course, an irregularity on the skin is not a pretty sight to all, not only for women, but for men as well. And, men use skin lightener products also to get rid of those uneven skin tones. But, some skin lighteners are formulated only for men; others are formulated exclusively for women. The reason is simple: the skin of men is different from the skin of women. So, how should men do an effective skin lightening?
First, go for natural products . Men have bigger skin pores than women have and it was discovered that they have 15% oilier skin than women have. Therefore, when choosing a lightening cream, look for something that is chemically free. Deodorant soap contains strong and rugged components so they might leave detergent layers on the skin when used, especially if used as a facial wash . This may block the pores of the skin and causes irritation. The natural extracts from plants do not whiten the skin only. It nourishes the skin , giving that healthy glow on the face.
Also, use toners with alpha hydroxyl ingredients or glycolic acids. Especially that, men spend more time outside than women, more dirt or pollutant are reacting with their skin. In addition, choose skin lightening creams that are not sensitive to light because most men want to be outdoors.
Moreover, choose a skin lightener that serves other purposes such as eliminates dark spots and pimple marks. A product that serves multiple purposes is an advantage on the part of the buyer and the user.
The skin lightening work by suppressing the production of the melanin on the skin, the dark pigment that determines the color of our skin. The more melanin on the skin, the darker the skin color is. Skin whitening processes were focused mainly in suppressing melanin formation.
Most skin lightening products for men contains hydroquinone, a very harsh and effective skin lightener. Before, it was advertised for its activeness. Today, some discourages the use of hydroquinone because it poses a serious threat to human health. It is recommended therefore to buy creams that are naturally-based.
Although, when we think of men doing skin lightening, it sound like it is not really masculine. But, going deeper into it, masculine or not, it shows how caring the man is with his body. And it is a good sign of taking care of one’s self.
