The vast majority of American kids are going to face acne. It’s not caused by your eating habits or how much you wash your face. So let’s discover what really causes this condition that affects so many kids by exposing it’s myths. Once the myths are exposed getting rid of pimples is a piece of cake.

Greasy sugary food and other junk foods lead to acne. Wrong! There is no scientific data that has found a relationship between food consumption and acne. Now, that doesn’t give you permission to go nuts and start eating all the junk food you like. A healthy diet is a must to keep your body functioning and in tip top health.

Dirt Causes acne.Untrue! If you dig a little deeper, you will come to understand washing your face more than a few times a day or scrubbing with a wash cloth will actually make your pimples worse. The best way to get rid of acne is to warm soapy water and your fingers then pat dry.

Sweating will open your pores and is good for acne. Wrong Again! Actually mixing sweat and the oils your body makes can make pimples worse in a lot of different situations. After any physical exertion it’s a good idea to shower.

There is a cure for acne. Kind of. You can treat the condition but no scientist has found a cure. Hopefully, in the not to distant future a cure for pimples will be unearthed. Until that moment arrives we can use the lotions and pills that we have today and make the best of it.

The sun is good for getting rid of acne. Not quite! It can in time worsen the situation and should be used in moderation;it could give the appearance of a better complexion, but over the long term, it could do more harm than good.

Stress causes acne. No one is quite sure. Without question stress can increase the production of hormones, and this can definitely aggravate your acne. But that doesn’t necessarily brand it as a cause of acne. The jury is still out. So why take a chance and get rid of stress when ever possible.

Makeup causes acne? Not likely! There is no scientific evidence that supports the claim in causing acne. Today, most cosmetic manufacturers go out of their way to produce a product that won’t block your pores. However it’s probably not good to wear makeup when you undertake strenuous exercise. Makeup can only irritate the situation and is really useless for such activity.

Spot acne treatments work? Not really. If your goal is to understand how to get rid of zits, it’s a must to recognize the complete body. Treating only the symptom isn’t what we need to be doing. You can cover the latest acne ointment over your entire body, but nothing is really going to happen until you attack the source of your problem. While it’s symptom appears on you skin the real culprit lives at a hormonal level deep inside your body.

Acne just affects the way you look and won’t kill you! Acne is a serious matter. Sure the outward appearance of acne is nothing more than a response to an inner dysfunction that probably won’t kill you. But an outbreak also affects your self-regard and self-worth. Will acne kill you? I don’t think so, you may just feel like you want to die.

Let me leave you with these closing thoughts. Don’t squeeze your whiteheads. You are just asking for trouble when you do. It makes little sense to risk permanent acne scaring for the short lived satisfaction you may get by picking and popping pimples. Remember the trick to beautiful skin is finding what works for you and staying at it.
